Margaret Jeanette Myers

Mrs. Margaret Jeanette Thornton Myers, 89, of Thornton Rd. in Washington, entered into rest on Friday, May 5, 2023, at home.

Mrs. Myers was born in Wilkes County on July 5, 1933.  She was the daughter of Charlie and Lora Wheatley Thornton, and was the wife of the late Leroy Myers.  She was a homemaker, and loved her family dearly.  She was an extraordinary wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother.  She had been a longtime member of the Newtown Baptist Church.

She is survived by one son, George Myers, of Washington; one grandson, Travis Myers (Meagan), of Washington, and by her four year old great grandson, Chase Myers.

Funeral services will be at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 9, 2023, at the Hopkins Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jim Jones and Rev. W.C. Bentley officiating.  Interment will follow at Resthaven Cemetery.  The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 11:30a.m.-1:00 p.m. at Hopkins Funeral prior to the service.
