Mablean Smith Sherrer

Mrs. Mablean Smith Sherrer, 80, of Philomath Rd., died Tuesday evening at her home. Mrs. Sherrer was born in Oglethorpe County, and had lived in the Rayle Community for most of her life.She was the daughter of the late Joseph C. Smith and Reba McCannon Smith.She was a housewife, and was a member of the Phillips Mill Baptist Church. Funeral services will be Friday, August 21, 2015, at 11:00am at the Phillips mill Baptist Church with Rev. Mark Woods officiating.Burial will follow at the Carter’s Grove Baptist Church Cemetery. Mrs. Sherrer is survived by her husband, J. Marshall Sherrer, of the home; one son, Brent Sherrer (Deana), of Rayle; one granddaughter, Jennifer Shelton, and one great grandchild;four sisters, Doris Walker (Billy), and Linda Buff (Jake), both of Rayle, and Louise Smith and Lucille Edmunds (Billy), both of Anderson, SC. The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 6-8pm at Hopkins Funeral Home in Washington.
