Louie Edward Armour

December 5, 1947 — July 28, 2022

Mr. Louie Edward Armour, 74, of Washington, entered into rest Thursday evening at his home surrounded by his family.

Mr. Armour was born in Wilkes County and had lived there for all of his life.  He was the son of the late Frank and Elzora Franklin Armour, and was the husband of Shirley Sammons Armour.  He was a self employed door-to-door salesman, and had a faithful and trusting clientele due to treating everyone fair and square.  Through the years, Louie had coached Little League, loved to watch their hummingbirds, and was the biggest Indianapolis Colt fan EVER!  While he and his wife were inseparable, he was a big fan of the Atlanta Braves and loved being a “Pa Pa” to his grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by a brother, Bobby Armour, and by his grandson, Cohen Edward Pate.

He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Shirley Sammons Armour, of Washington; two daughters, Pamela A. Cox (Rick), of Spartanburg, S.C., and Michelle A. Pate (Keith), of Washington; one son, Michael Armour (Lee), of Newnan; three grandchildren, Gracie Armour, Will Armour, and Courtney P. Germany (Jordan); and one great great granddaughter, Maddie Grace Germany; and two brothers, Jerry Armour, of Hull, and Douglas “Bardahl” Armour (Pat), of Rayle.
