Linda Stevens Mrs. Linda Owens Stevens, 65, of Washington, died Tuesday, May 26, 2009 at home.She was a native of Taliaferro County, the daughter of the late William A. Owens and Carrie B. Vandiver Owens.Mrs. Stevens was a retired cloth grader and a member of Ficklen Presbyterian Church, Ficklen Ladies Friendship Group and the VFW Ladies Auxillary. Graveside services will be Friday at 11am in Resthaven Cemetery with Rev. Ed Rees and Rev. Jake Marshall officiating.Robert Stevens, John Stevens, Ricky Dingler, Brantley Stevens, Ryan Stevens and Brad Suddath will serve as pallbearers and Crayton Young, Mike Eskew, Edward Smith, Jerry Hackney, Scott Smith and Carlton Nunn will serve as hnonrary pallbearers. Survivors include her husband, Gene A. Stevens; daughter & son in law, Gina & Steve Broome of Wilkes County; son & daughter in law, Philip & Carla Stevens, Glascock County; brother, Frank Owens; sisters, Belle Dingler and Laura Smathers; four grandchildren, Stephen & Jason Broome and Cole & Chesnie Stevens. The family will receive friends Thursday from 6-8pm at Hopkins Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Ficklen Presbyterian Church Building Fund or to the American Cancer Society.
