Mrs. Leona Burke Mrs. Leona Elliott Burke, 78, of Washington, died September 29, 2008 at her home.She was a native of White County, Georgia and the daughter of the late Thomas Noah Elliott and Gartie Lee Vandiver Elliott.She was the widow of Ace David Burke, Jr.Mrs. Burke had worked in the five and dime store for many years and then for Bi Lo Food Stores in the produce department.She was of the Methodist Faith. Graveside services will be Tuesday, September 30, 2008 at 11:00am in Resthaven Cemetery with Rev. Albert Huyck officiating. Survivors include two sons, Ace David Burke, III (Judy), of Washington, Kenneth Lamar Burke(Jackie), of Washington;daughter, Fifi Harris (David), of Washington; sisters, Carole Clark, Jacksonville, FL, Corine Hajduch, Statham, and Rosa Lee Richardson, Smyrna; four grandchildren and three great grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews.
