Lena Virginia Edwards Callaway

Mrs. Lena Virginia Edwards Callaway, 86, formerly of Washington, entered into rest on Wednesday, October 13, 2021, at the Wrightsville Manor Nursing Facility. Mrs. Callaway was born in Crawfordville on October 23, 1934, to Lenys B. and Minnie Odessa Edwards, and was the wife of the late Olander Callaway.She was a high School graduate, moved to Atlanta in 1960, and moved back to Washington in 1998.Her husband, Olander, passed away in 2008, after which she moved to Eatonton. She then moved to E. Dublin in 2015, where her granddaughter Alicia lives.She was a homemaker, and was preceded in death by her son, Thomas Boyd Callaway, and by her daughter Rachel Callaway Brooks; she was also preceded in death by a brother, Wilbur Edwards, and by her sister, Margaret Johnson. Mrs. Callaway is survived by her sister, Faye Callaway, of Washington; and by four granddaughters, Alicia Callaway Thomas (Timothy), of East Dublin, Marcus Grace, Kimesha Plummer (John), and Tony Brooks. Graveside services will be 4:00pm Sunday, October 17, 2021, at Resthaven Cemetery with Rev. Stephen Rayner officiating.Visitation will be Sunday, the day of the service, from 2:00-3:30pm at Hopkins Funeral Home. Hopkins Funeral Home is honored to serve the family of Mrs. Lena V.
