Lefreda Adair

November 8, 1918 — July 7, 2016

Mrs. Lefreda Sue Jackson Adair, 97, passed away on Thursday, July 7, 2016, at her home. Mrs. Adair was born in Cordele, GA, and had lived in Washington most of her life.She was the daughter of Augustus Edgar Jackson and Susan Cox Jackson, and was the widow of Dr. Charles Adair. She was a University of Georgia graduate, and was a homemaker. She was a member of the Washington First United Methodist Church.She had been very active in her community as well as her church for all of her life.She will be greatly missed by all her friends and by the community as well.She was preceded in death by her oldest son, Charles Lewis Adair. Mrs. Adair is survived by one son, Carleton Adair (Elizabeth), of Greenville, SC; one daughter, Susan A. Blanton (Mark), of Greensboro; and by three grandchildren; Charles Adair, Joseph Adair, and Cala Adair. Memorial services will be at 11:00am on Saturday, July 16, 2016, at the Washington First United Methodist Church with Rev. Thomas G. Hall officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to the Wills Memorial Hospital Foundation, 120 Gordon St., Washington, GA 30673, or to the Washington First United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 518, Washington, GA30673.
