Lawrence James

Mr. Lawrence Joel James, 56, of Water St., died Thursday March 12, 2009, at his home. Mr. James was born in Wilkes County and had lived there all of his life.He was the son of Howard Lee James and Dell McAvoy James.He was a member of the Bethel United Methodist Church. Funeral services will be Sunday, March 15, 2009, at 3:00 at the Bethel United Methodist Church, with Rev. Larron Pilgrim and Richard Broome officiating.Interment will follow in the church cemetery.The family will receive friends Saturday evening from 6-8 at Hopkins Funeral Home. Mr. James is survived by his wife, Connie James; one son, Ashley James, and wife Jessica; one daughter, Savannah James; his parents, Howard and Dell James; two brothers, Ronnie James and Victor James: sisters, Charlotte Bullard, and husband Drew,and Susan Pilgrim, and husband Larron; two nieces, Bryanna Pilgrim and Shannon Scott, and husband Joey, and their daughters, Summer and Emma. The family will receive friends Saturday evening from 6-8 at Hopkins Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Medical College of GA Children’s Medical Center.
