Lavenia B. Henderson

Mrs. Martha Lavenia Burt Henderson, 75, of the Lexington Rd., died Friday evening, August 14, 2015, at her home. Mrs. Henderson was born in Washington, and had lived here all of her life.She was the daughter of Mrs. Louise D. Burt and of the late Addison Burt.She was a homemaker, and a long-time member of the Mt. Zion United Methodist Church. Graveside services will be Sunday, August 16, 2015, at 3:00pm at Resthaven Cemetery with Rev. Richard Broom officiating. She is survived by her husband, Brian Henderson, of Washington; two sons, Burt Goolsby (Lynn), and Barry Goolsby (Cindy), both of Washington; three step-daughters, Kym Wiggins (Jon) and Karyn Church (Michael), both of Wilkesboro, NC, and Katie Beck, of Atlanta; her mother, Louise Dunnaway Burt, of Washington; one sister, Carol Burt, of St. Simons; nine grandchildren, Lindsey and Bubba Rogers, Burt II and Mallory Goolsby, Anna and Caleb Leestma, and Marla Goolsby, Kierstyn Collins, Zackary Church, Maddy Church, William Beck, and Henry Beck; three great grandchildren, Brantley and Brogan Rogers, and Burt Goolsby III; and by a host of very special and faithful friends. Memorial contributions may be made to the Mt. Zion United Methodist Church.
