Mr. Lance Newton Hopkins, 59, of Washington, passed away Tuesday, February 5, 2019, at his home. Mr. Hopkins was born in Washington on August 7, 1959, and was the son of the late Truman and Iris Lance Hopkins.He was the husband of Sally Ivey Hopkins, and was a salesman.Lance had a great sense of humor, loved telling jokes, and was a huge University of Georgia fan.He was of the Baptist faith. He is survived by his wife, Sara Elizabeth “Sally” Ivey Hopkins, of Washington; two daughters, Lauren Boone, and Emily Appling,Duluth; one son, Kristopher Appling, of Fernandina Beach, Fla.; two brothers, Charles (Amelia) Hopkins, of Elberton, and Tad (Marcia) Hopkins, of Evans; one sister, Nancy Hopkins (Rick) McClure, of Tallahassee, Fl.; Memorial services will be 3:00pm Thursday, February 7, 2019, at the Hopkins Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Thomas Hall officiating.Visitation will be for one hour prior to the service on Thursday (2:00-2:50pm) at Hopkins Funeral Home.
