L. E. Chafin

Mr. L.E. Chafin, 87, passed away Saturday, January 27, 2018, at the Echols Personal Care Home in Rayle, GA. Mr. Chafin was born in Wilkes County and had lived here all of his life.He was the son of the late Luther C. Chafin and Dempie Gresham Chafin, and was preceded in death by a grandson, Glenn Ferguson. He was a self-employed carpenter and painter, and was a Veteran of the U.S. Navy. He is survived by one daughter, Miriam C. Ferguson (Billy), of Abbeville, SC; one grandson, Bryan Ferguson (Amy), of Iva, SC; two great grandsons, Chase Ferguson and Cooper Ferguson. Graveside services will be 2:00pm Tuesday, January 30, 2018 at Resthaven Cemetery in Washington, GA. Memorial contributions may be made to the Echols Personal Care Home, 5266 Lexington Rd., Rayle, GA30660. Hopkins Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
