Mrs. Mary Katherine Meadows Echols, 83, of Norcross, formerly of the Carter’s Grove Community, died Saturday, April 3, 2010 at Peachtree Christian Hospice in Duluth. Mrs. Echols was a native of Taliaferro County, the daughter of the late William Edgar and Flora Fanning Meadows and the widow of Loyd Willis Echols.She worked at Royal and at Almar.She was a life-long member of Carter’s Grove Church. Funeral services will be Wednesday, April 7that 2:00pm in Carter’s Grove Baptist Church with Rev. Brian George officiating.Donald Allen, Dennis Allen, J.T. Allen, Tim Branyan, Mark Yearwood and Lee Yearwood will serve as pallbearers.Honorary pallbearers will be Cohen Wright, Bill Callaway and Johnny Walker.Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Survivors include her daughter, Mary Helen King, of Norcross; sister, Bernice Meadows Taylor, of Union Point; two granddaughters, Gloria Danielle King, Norcross and Jennifer Elaine Smith, Kennesaw; two great granddaughters, Christine Elaine Hawkins and Katherine Elizabeth Smith; and a number of nieces and nephews.
