Joyce Sifre

Ms. Joyce Fortson Sifre, 57, of Danburg Rd., Tignall, entered into rest on Thursday, June 2, 2022, at her home.

Joyce was born in Washington, GA, and had lived in this community for all of her life. She was the daughter of the late Boyce and Inez Fortson, formerly worked at the Wilkes County EMS, and was a member of the Fishing Creek Baptist Church.

She is survived by two daughters, Marisa Sifre, of Greensboro, and Marlyse Sifre, currently of England; one son, Michael Anthony Osborne of Washington; one sister, Barbara F. McAvoy (Barry), of Tignall; one niece, Lauren McAvoy; one nephew, Adam Fortson (Meghan); two great nieces and a nephew; and two sisters-in-law, Vivian Fortson and Margaret Fortson.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Washington-Wilkes Animal Shelter, 358 Brown Dr., Washington, GA  30673.

Memorial services will be held at Fishing Creek Baptist Church at 11:00 AM on June 18th, 2022 with Reverend Roy Cates officiating.
