Joyce C. Brown

Joyce Ann Chafin Brown, 80, of Sharon, Georgia passed away on April 3, 2024. She was born on May 12, 1943, to the late Austin K. Chafin and Elmyra Patterson Chafin.

Joyce was an active member of her community. She was a member of the Sharon Garden Club, Sharon City Council, served on the board for the Taliaferro County Library and was the church treasurer for South Liberty Presbyterian Church in Sharon, Georgia.

She was a cherished grandmother to three grandchildren and enjoyed going to events and awards programs for them. She also enjoyed going on family vacations to the beach.

Joyce was an avid gardener who found joy in tending to her beautiful flowers and plants. She took great pride in mowing her grass with her zero-turn mower, keeping her yard immaculate. Cooking was another passion of hers, and she loved looking through cookbooks to find new recipes to try. Joyce was also a huge Elvis fan and enjoyed listening to his music.

In addition to her parents, Joyce was preceded in death by her husband, Jesse L. Brown.

She is survived by her daughter Kim Blake and spouse Jay, as well as her three adoring grandchildren, Jackson Blake, Olivia Blake and Holden Blake; and by her sister, Kaye Lokey, of Thomson; and by several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be at 11:00 A.M. Monday, April 8, 2024 at South Liberty Presbyterian Church with Reverend Bob Anderson officiating. Interment will follow at Sharon United Methodist Church Cemetery.
