Jonnie B. Walker

Jonnie B. Walker, 82, a beloved member of the Rayle, Georgia community, passed away on June 17, 2023 at his home surrounded by family. He was born on April 25, 1941, and lived a long and fulfilling life with his loving family and friends.

Jonnie spent most of his life as a farmer, dedicating his days to the land and growing crops. He was a hard worker, never complained, and always had a smile on his face. His strong work ethic and unwavering dedication were an inspiration to all who knew him.

Jonnie was a true family man, always putting the needs of his loved ones before his own. He had a kind heart and a generous spirit, always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. He was a mentor, a friend, and a confidant to so many.

His love of life was infectious, and he touched the hearts of everyone he met. His passion for farming was only surpassed by his love of family, and he was happiest when surrounded by his loved ones. Jonnie will be deeply missed by all those who knew and loved him.

Alongside Peggy, his loving wife of 61 years, Jonnie is survived by four children: Laura Hutchins (David), of Rayle, Monica Gunter (Danny), of Rayle, Mandy Lanier (Reggie), of Metter, GA and Page Walker (Sherri), of Rayle; two brothers, Billy Walker, and Bobby Walker (Ann), both of Rayle. Jonnie and Peggy also had fifteen grandchildren, and seventeen great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, June 21, 2023, at the County Line Baptist Church with Rev. Eric Bunch and Rev. Jim Newsome officiating.  Interment will follow in the church cemetery.  The family will receive friends Wednesday morning at County Line Baptist Church from 10:00 until the time of the service.

Pallbearers will be Jonathan Hutchins, Matthew Hutchins, Nicky Hutchins, Wright Gunter, Walker Lanier, Brantley Walker, Jordan Walker and Russ Standard.
