Johnny Shedd

Mr. Johnny Shedd, 87, of Walker Rd. in Rayle, passed away Tuesday evening at his home. Mr. Shedd was born in Walhalla, SC, but had lived most of his life in Wilkes County.He was the son of the late Jim and Heppie Owens Shedd, and had worked as a mechanic for John Deere, and had also been a truck driver and a cattle farmer.Mr. Shedd was a member of the Sardis Baptist Church. Mr. Shedd is survived by his wife, Kathryn Poss Shedd, of the home; three sons, Lynn Shedd (Debbie), of Lexington, Darryl Shedd (Laura), of Rayle, and Rodney Shedd (Betsy), of Rayle; two daughters, Gail S. Stewart (Tim), of Rayle, and Angie S. Williams (Chad), of Lexington; one sister, Margie S. Thurmond, of Washington; one brother, Bobby Shedd (Jane), of Hampton, GA; ten grandchildren, and 11 great grandchildren. Funeral services will be 11:00am Friday, August 11, 2017, at the County Line Baptist Church in Rayle with Rev. Jim Newsome and Rev. Allen Danner officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.The family will receive friends at the church for one hour prior to the service on Friday - from 10-11am.
