Joan Taylor Nicholson

Joan Taylor Nicholson, age 83, passed away Sunday, December 31, 2023 at her residence.

Joan was born in Wilkes County at the old hospital, along with her twin sister, Jean.  She was preceded in death by her parents, Arthur G. Taylor and Winnie Mae McDaniel Taylor; twin sister, Jean Godsey; and brother, Charlie Taylor.

As an LPN, her generous spirit allowed her to care for countless people in the surrounding communities.  Following retirement, she continued serving others, wanting nothing in return.

That same love for others carried over into the lives of countless babies who have been lovingly wrapped in blankets crocheted by Joan.

She is survived by her two children, Jeannine West and Tracy West; one granddaughter, Hope West; one great grandson, Miton Kitchens; one brother, Bobby Taylor; and several loving nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will take place at 2:00 P.M. Saturday, January 6, 2024 in the Crawfordville Baptist Church Cemetery with Pastor Nelson Goddard officiating. The family will receive friends following the service at the graveside.
