Mr. Jeff Duncan Gilreath, Jr., 83, departed this world on September 13, 2012 to be with his Heavenly Father after a period of declining health. Born and reared in Greenville, Mr. Gilreath graduated from Greenville High School, Class of 1946 and attended the Citadel.He was predeceased by his parents, Jeff D. and Louise Thompson Gilreath and a sister, Jane Gilreath Black. Mr. Gilreath was also predeceased by his wife Alma Lunsford Gilreath of Washington, GA where they had lived all of their married life of 31 years.He is survived by a step-child, Brenda Manget (Bill), a step-grandchild, John Sapp, and a step great-grandchild and two grand young ladies. Mr. Gilreath returned to Greenville several years ago to be near his 5 children from his 1st marriage.They are Gail G. Young (Jim), Gwynne G. Huff (Greg), Gloria G. Anderson (Pete), Jeff D. Gilreath, III (Cathy) and Mark G. Gilreath (Hope).He is survived by 14 grandchildren and16 great-grandchildren.He is also survived by his brother-in-law, John Black, two nephews, two nieces and their families of Virginia. A graveside service will be held at Resthaven Cemetery in Washington, Georgia, at 1 PM on Sunday, September 16th, with Rev. Kevin Madden officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Wounded Warriors with the Department of Defense or to the First Baptist Church of Washington, Georgia.
