James Lee Tallent

Mr. James Lee Tallent, 71, of Quaker Springs Rd. in Washington, passed away Thursday, July 13, 2017, at his home. Mr. Tallent was born in Snellville, and was the son of the late Lonnie and Azzie Bell Peavy Tallent.He was the widower of Patricia Dianne Peppers Tallent, and was a farmer.Mr. Tallent in the Army Reserve during the Vietnam Era, and he was a former member of Hyde’s Chapel Baptist Church in Conyers. He is survived by one son, James Tallent, Jr. and by one granddaughter, Amy Leanne Tallent, both of Washington; one brother, Raymond Tallent, of Lawrenceville; and by one sister, Becky T. Johnson, of Conyers. Funeral services will be 3:00pm Sunday, July 16, 2017, at the Hyde’s Chapel Baptist Church in Conyers.Burial will follow in the church cemetery.Mr. Tallent will lie in state at the church for one hour prior to the service. The family will receive friends Saturday evening from 5:00pm-7:00pm at Hopkins Funeral Home in Washington. Memorial contributions may be made to your local chapter of the American Cancer Society.
