James Nolan Long

Mr. James Nolan Long 71, of Sherwood Dr. entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, August 07, 2018 at Wills Memorial Hospital. The funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, August 11, 2018 at Phillips Mill Baptist Church with Rev. Mark Woods and Rev. David McConnell officiating. Interment will follow in Resthaven Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be Brent Sherrer, David Green, Jene Moore, Sam Scott, Neil Echols and Jimmy Demastes. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be the Gideon’s. Mr. Long was the son of the late George Nolan Long and the late Mollie Bell Thornton Long of Washington.He was a veteran and had served his country with honor in the United States Army, a member of Phillips Mill Baptist Church, where he served as deacon for many years and was Vice President of Wilkes/Lincoln Gideon Camp. Survivors include his wife, Sara Long; three daughters, Bridgette L Venable and husband, Adam, Shelley Young Hasting Parker and husband, Lee and Kristy Young White all of Rayle, GA;one sister, Jean L. Dadgar and husband,Dr. Ahmad Dadgar; niece, Suzanne D. Smith and husband, David and nephew, Cyrus Dadgar and wife, Lydia of Sarasota, FL; and seven grandchildren. Visitation will be from be from 6 until 8 p.m. Friday, August 10, 2018 at Hopkins Funeral Home.
