Mr. James White Hays, 85, of Metasville, formerly of Atlanta, died September 5, 2008.He was born December 2, 1922, in Newton County, to the late James Coy and Velma White Hays.He was retired from Northside Pharmacy in Atlanta and Fievet Pharmacy in Washington.He also sold fruit and boiled peanuts in Washington which netted him the nickname "The Peanut Man." Mr. Hays was an Army Veteran of World War II and a member of Luther Hays Presbyterian Church in Hayston, Georgia. Preceded in death by his wife, Evelyn Smith Hays and grandson, Steven Craig Carter, he is survived by, daughter, Lynn Hays Carter and her husband, Addison, of Washington; son, Lee Hays and his wife, Terry of Camak; grandson, James Casey Carter and his wife, Stacey; great grandson, Steven Grier Carter; and sister, Jeanette Hays Russell, of Tiger, Georgia. Funeral services will be Sunday, September 7th at 2:00pm in Hopkins Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Dale Fincher officiating.Interment will be in the Hays Family Cemetery in Hayston, Georgia at 5:30p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the Hays Family Cemetery Fund.
