James Finch

James Beldon Finch, DMD, 64, of Washington, died Sunday, July 21, 2013 at Wills Memorial Hospital. A native of Athens, Georgia, he was the son of the late Lamar Finch and Lydia Hardigree Finch.Dr. Finch graduated from Evans High School in 1967, went to the University of Georgia, then graduated from the Medical College of Georgia School of Dentistry in 1974.He was a member of First United Methodist Church where he served on numerous committees over the years and most recently was Chairman of the Usher Committee.He was a member of the Washington Kiwanis, the Eastern District Dental Society, the Georgia Dental Association, the American Dental Association and was a past member of the Washington-Wilkes Jaycees. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, July 24th at 11:00am in First UMC of Washington with Rev. T.G. Hall officiating.Interment will follow in Bellvue Memorial Gardens, Grovetown.Lester Wolfe, Thomas J. Bailey, Larry Slover, Dr. Bruce Holes, Buddy Lindsey and Calvin Hall will serve as pallbearers. Survivors include his wife of 43 years, Eleanor Cato Finch; one son, James L. Finch, of Dallas, Texas; one daughter and son in law, Tonya and Forrest Jordan, Grovetown; Mother, Lydia Finch, Grovetown; brothers, Gerald Finch (Mary), of Augusta, Ronald Finch, Jayess, Mississippi, Donald Finch (Jeanette), Rosemond, CA; Mother in Law, Rebie Cato, Grovetown; two grandchildren, Kali Jordan and Tristan Jordan, Grovetown; and several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 6-8pm at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to First UMC of Washington.
