Jack Thurmond, Sr.

Mr. Jack Morgan Thurmond, Sr., of Berkshire Dr., died February 10, 2012, at his home. Mr. Thurmond was born in Tignall, GA, and was the son of the late Allen Thurmond, Sr. and Maggie Saggus Thurmond.He was a retired game warden with the Georgia Department of Natural Resources, and was the widower of Annette Caldwell Thurmond.He was a member of Hiram Masonic Lodge #51, was a Shriner, and was a member of the Lions Club. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, and was a member of the Beulah Baptist Church. Mr. Thurmond is survived by one son, Jack M. Thurmond, Jr., of Washington; three sisters-in-law, Katherine Thurmond, of Washington, Joyce Venable, of Barnesville, and Roberta George, of Washington. Graveside services will be Monday, February 13, 2012, at 2:00 pm at Resthaven Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Steve Walker, Jason Crook, Josh Elder, Terry Elder, Brian George, and Randy Leary.Honorary pallbearers will be members of Hiram Masonic Lodge #51 and Gene Anderson.
