Jack Meriwether Falkner

Mr. Jack Meriwether Falkner, 67, of the Lincolnton Rd., died Saturday morning at University Hospital in Augusta. Mr. Falkner was born in Atlanta, GA, graduated from Washington-Wilkes High School in 1961, and later graduated from the University of Georgia with a degree in journalism.He was a former teacher and trucker, and was the son of Jack and Myra McMekin Falkner.He was a veteran of the United States Navy during the Vietnam Conflict. Mr. Falkner was survived by a cousin, James (Jim) M. Griggs, and by his special friend, Olivia M. Bruce. Graveside services will be Sunday, May 2, 2010, at 3:00 at the Smyrna United Methodist Church Cemetery with Rev. Jimmy Chapman officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to the American Cancer Society.
