Mrs. Iris Lance Hopkins Dyson, 88, of Washington, passed away Friday, December 12, 2014 in GRU.A native of Washington, she was the daughter of George Washington and Maud Howard Lance.She was a member of First Baptist Church of Washington, the Vannie Spratlin TEL Sunday School Class and a past member of Beta Sigma Phi.She was retired from Wilkes Telephone and Electric Co.Mrs. Dyson was predeceased by husbands Truman Hopkins and Joseph R. Dyson, Sr. A graveside service will be held Sunday, December 14th at 3:00pm in Resthaven Cemetery with Rev. Kevin Madden officiating.Matthew Caldwell, Stephen Caldwell, Truman Hopkins III, John Hopkins, Willard Lance and Guy Lance will serve as pallbearers. The Vannie Spratlin TEL Sunday School Class will serve as honorary pallbearers. Survivors include three sons and daughters in law, Charles and Amelia Hopkins, Elberton, Truman and Marcia Hopkins, Jr. of Evans and Lance and Sally Hopkins, Washington; one daughter and son in law, Nancy and Rick McClure, of Tallahassee; eight grandchildren, Megan Turner, Charlie Hopkins, Craig McClure, Ryan McClure, Adrien (Mark) Spandle, Truman (Kris) Hopkins III, John Hopkins and Lauren Hopkins; and five great grandchildren, Harrison Turner, Elizabeth and Mary- Wilkes Hopkins, Meredith and Reagan Spandle.
