Hollis L. Winn

Mr. Hollis Leroy Winn, 88, of Hill St., passed away Friday, December 29, 2017, at Southern Manor Senior Living. Mr. Winn was born November 3, 1929, in Madison County, GA, and had lived in this community for 62 years.He was the son of the late David S. and Zora Maxwell Winn.He retired from the Georgia Forestry Commission after over three decades of service. He was a member of the First Baptist Church and of the Friendship Sunday School Class, and served on the Youth Committee there for many years.Mr. Winn was a Mason and member of Shannon Lodge #404 in Comer, GA. Mr. Winn is survived by his wife of 62 years, Frances (Patsy) Sanders Winn, of Washington; one son, Keith Winn, and wife Linda, of Atlanta; two grandsons, Jonathan K. Winn and Zachary L. Winn; and one great granddaughter, Blakely Rose Winn. Funeral services will be 2:30pm Tuesday, January 2, 2018, in the Washington First Baptist Church with Rev. Todd Ware and Rev. W.C. Bentley officiating.Interment will follow at Resthaven Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Tommy Wheeles, Jimmy Doolittle, Zachary Winn, Kyle Little, Danny Little, and Dan Crook.Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Friendship Sunday School Class at the Washington First Baptist Church, Peyton McGill, Greg Winn, Kerry McAvoy, Sr., and Ray Hardy.
