Henry Clark Strother

Mr. Henry Clark Strother, 76, of Wheatley Rd. in Washington, entered into rest Friday evening, January 27, 2023, at Piedmont/University Hospital in Augusta.

Mr. Strother was born in Washington, Ga. to the late Claude Edmunds Strother and Annie Kate “Pete” Thornton Strother, and had lived in this community for all of his life. He was a logger, and owner of Henry Strother Logging. He had been a member of the Rehoboth Baptist Church, and was a member of the American Logging Council and of the Southeastern Wood Producers Association(SWPA)).  Mr. Strother was preceded in death by his wife and mother of their children, Margaret Lindsey Strother, a son, Robert Clark Strother, and by a sister, Ann Strother Saggus(Charles).

He is survived by his son, Robert Lindsey "Rob" Strother, of Washington, and his daughter, Lindsey Strother Rivas (Samuel), of Athens; two grandchildren Hannah Elizabeth Strother and Benjamin Robert Strother; a sister, Inez Strother Hall (Lewis), of Washington; and by a large number of nieces and nephews;

Funeral services will begin at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 4, 2023, at the Hopkins Funeral Home Chapel with interment to follow at Smyrna Methodist Church Cemetery.  The family will receive friends Friday evening from 6-8 p.m at Hopkins Funeral Home.
