Henry Kinzey Branham

Mr. Henry Kinzey Branham, Jr., 60, of Athens, passed away Friday, March 9, 2018.Mr. Branham was born in Washington on December 28, 1957, and was the son of Dorothy Stevens Branham and of the late Henry K. Branham.Kinzeygraduated from the University of Georgia in 1979with a Bachelor of Fine Arts, and then earned his Masters of Fine Arts from Louisiana State University in 1985.For twenty years he was a Sculptor Instructor at the New Orleans Academy of Fine Arts in New Orleans, Louisiana, and later instructed in the University of Georgia Studies Abroad Program in Costa Rica.He was a Stone Carving/Bronze Casting Instructor with the University of Georgia Studies Abroad Program in Cortona, Italy, and was more recently an Adjunct Professor at the Lamar Dodd School of Art at the University of Georgia.He was of the Methodist faith, having grown up in the Washington First United Methodist Church. Mr. Branham is survived by his mother, Dorothy (Dot) S. Branham, of Washington; one sister, LuAnn B. Holmes (John), of Trenton, SC; one brother, Walter S. Branham, of Crawford; 2 nieces, Kate H. Sinclair (Scott), of Ft. Mill, SC, and Cissy H. Perry (Eli), of Trenton, SC; and two great nieces, Lily Sinclair, and Eliza Sinclair; and by a number of uncles, aunts, and cousins. Funeral Services will be 2:00pm Sunday, March 11, 2018, at the Hopkins Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Thomas Hall officiating.Burial will follow in the Branham Family Cemetery on Branham Rd. in Washington.The family will receive friends at the Hopkins Funeral Home Chapel from 1:00pm until the time of the service on Sunday.
