With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Henry Samuel Bradley, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, who departed this life at the age of 87 on Saturday, December 28th, 2024. Born in Washington, Georgia on May 28th, 1937, to the late Samuel D.L. Bradley and Marie Walton Bradley. Sam was a cherished resident of Washington, Georgia, whose presence enriched the lives of all who knew him.
His life will be celebrated during a visitation on Tuesday, December 31, 2024 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at Hopkins Funeral Home Chapel. His funeral service will be held Thursday, January 2, 2025 at 3:00 PM, at Victory Baptist Church, 217 Newton Road, Washington, Georgia with Rev. Jimmy Chapman officiating the service. The family will receive friends from 1:30 PM until the funeral hour before the service. Interment will follow in Washington-Wilkes Memorial Gardens.
Pallbearers will be Bradley Smith, Dusty Brown, Ash Gabriel, Alex Gabriel, Perry-Austin Kilburn and Robby Bradley
Sam is cherished by his loving wife, Florence Ash Bradley of Washington, Georgia; four children, Debbie (Joey) Brown, of Iva, South Carolina, Dawn (Keith) Perry of Winterville, Georgia, Deedra (Jeremy) Kilburn of Braselton, Georgia and Phyllis Ursy of Sandersville, Georgia, daughter-in-law, Carol Gabriel of Greensboro, Georgia; eight grandchildren, Mandi Brown, Dusty (Ashley) Brown, Haley Anna (Erin) Roach, Hannah Marie Perry, Ash Gabriel, Alex Gabriel, Bradley (Brooke) Smith and Perry - Austin Kilburn; two great grandchildren, Colton Brown and Emmie Brown; Sam is preceded in death by his two sons, Dwayne Bradley and Chuck Gabriel and two grandchildren, Phillip Poole and Ryan Bradley.
Sam graduated from Tignall High School in 1955. He worked for Almar Manufacturing Company in Washington for many years. After working for Almar Manufactuing he sold insurance for Interstate Life Insurance Company, Gulf Life and American General. Sam was a member of the Memory Lane Cruisers in Washington. Sam was a faithful member of Victory Baptist Church, and a former Treasurer of the church.
Sam was known for his unwavering kindness, generous spirit, and a life that exemplified dedication to family and community. Over the years, he touched the hearts of many through his warm demeanor and the wisdom he imparted on those around him. His legacy is carried on by his loving family and countless friends who hold his memory close.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may made to Victory Baptist Church (Mission Fund), 217 Newtown Road, Washington, Georgia 30673.
