Helen Lamar

Mrs. Helen Stevens Lamar, 79, of Crawfordville, died June 16, 2009 in Wills Memorial Hospital.She was a native and lifelong resident of Wilkes County and the daughter of the late Sanders and Mable Stevens.Mrs. Lamar was the widow of Raymond Lamar.She retired from Royal Manufacturing as an inspector and was a member of Carter’s Grove Baptist Church. Graveside services will be Thursday at 11:00am in Carter’s Grove Baptist Cemetery with Rev. Wade Palmer officiating. Survivors include two sons and daughters in law, Paul Samuel and Judy Lamar, Crawfordville and Robert Eugene and Geraldine Lamar, Washington; one sister, Virginia Hunter, Crawfordville; four grandchildren, Tammy Gunter, Samantha Lamar, Richard Allen Lamar and Holly Young; three great grandchildren, Bradley Lamar, Ty Gunter and Tripp Gunter. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 6-8pm at the funeral home.
