Helen Patricia (Pat) Callaway

Mrs. Helen Patricia (Pat) Worthen Callaway, 82, of Stoney Ridge Rd., entered into rest Sunday evening, December 4, 2022, at her home surrounded by her family.

Mrs. Callaway was a native of Wilkes County.  She moved to Greene County while young, and has lived in Wilkes County since marrying Otis Henry Callaway some 64 years ago.  She worked for the Wilkes County School System for 30 plus years as a bus driver and para pro.  When she wasn’t working for the school system, she was usually right by her husband’s side feeding cows or helping with whatever else needed to be done on the farm.  She was a member of the Mallorysville Baptist Church.  Mrs. Callaway was preceded in death by her parents, Webster Brian Worthen and Alma Chafin Worthen and a son, Stanley Edward Callaway.

She is survived by her husband of 64 years, Otis Henry Callaway, of Washington; one son, Brian Callaway (Tonya), of Washington; one grandson, Greg Callaway (Madeline), of Washington; and twin great granddaughters, Ali and Lily Callaway.

Funeral services will be 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, December 7, 2022, at the Hopkins Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Barry McAvoy officiating.  Burial will follow at Resthaven Cemetery.

The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 6-8 P.M. at Hopkins Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be Bill Burdette, Ed Burdette III, Randy Ogletree, David Callaway, Justin Callaway and Gordon Brown.

Honorary pallbearers will be Tom Callaway, Doug Holder, Eric Holton, Greg Armour, Tracy Armour, Joe Burton, Leon Aycock, Ralph Denard, Neil Wilson, Mark Hammond and David Slaton.
