Harold E. Jones

Mr. Harold E. Jones, 82, of Spring St., died Thursday, December 23, 2010, at his home. Mr. Jones was born in Lincoln County and was the son of the late Ralph E. and Janie Mae Booth Jones.He was a University of Georgia Alumni and was a retired Personnel Director at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Augusta.He was a member of the Fishing Creek Baptist Church. Graveside services will be Monday, December 27, 2010, at 3:00 at Resthaven Cemetery with Rev. Paul Reviere officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:00-2:30pm on Monday at Hopkins Funeral Home. Active pallbearers will be David Jones, Sam Moore, Jason Dyson, Grif Newberry, Pembroke Pope, and Gene Hopkins.Honorary pallbearers will be Gene Granade, Bob Kirkland, Willie Frank Stripling, and Alex Boatwright. Mr. Jones is survived by one daughter, Joyce Bramblett, of Athens; two sons, Bob (Kathleen) Jones, of Washington, and Glenn Jones, of Washington; one sister, Lillie Granade, Athens;two grandchildren, Grif Newberry and Elise Bufford; one great granddaughter, Vivian Madison Newberry.Other survivors include Emma Jean Jones, Candy Hopkins, Donna Bufford, Jane Prater and family, and Vanessa Patrick and family.
