Gregory Allen Harris

Gregory Allen Harris, 38, ofColbert, died Monday, October 12, 2009. Mr. Harris was born at the U. S. Naval Hospital in Portsmouth, VA. He was a graduate of Madison County High School and later attended Athens Technical College.He was a member of the Gordon’s Chapel United Methodist Church in Colbert. Funeral services will be Thursday, October 15, 2009, at 11:00 am at the Washington First United Methodist Church with Rev. Gale Seibert, Rev. Bill Coady, and Rev. Jim Haralson officiating.Interment will follow at Resthaven Cemetery. Mr. Harris is survived by his parents, Allen and Faye Harris, of Colbert; maternal grandmother, Videll Davis, of Athens; Maternal grandparents, Jimmy Davis and Milodean Davis, of Hinesville; and one uncle, Edward Harris, of Marietta. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Foster and Anne Harris, of Washington, and by his paternal great grandparents. Foster and Vera Harris, who were from Carrollton. The family will receive friends Wednesday evening from 6-8 at Hopkins Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Madison-Oglethorpe Animal Shelter, or to the Madison County Food Bank.
