Gene Land

Mr. Gene Allen Land, Sr. of Washington, died Friday morning at his residence.A native of Thomson, Georgia, he was the son of the late William F.and Daisy Abner Land.Mr. Land was retired from Wilkes Telephone where he worked as a dispatcher.He was a member of First Baptist Church of Washington. Graveside services will be 3:00pm Sunday, April 15, 2012, at Resthaven Cemetery with Rev. Kevin Madden officiating.Tommy Land, Jeff Land, Troy Land, Shawn Land, Phil McCorkle, and Glenn Edwards will serve as pallbearers. Survivors include his wife, Lynne Chafin Land; two sons, Gene Land, Jr. and Chris Land both of Washington; two daughters, Genie Land, Thomson and Dottie L. Harper, Warrenton; two brothers, Charles Land, Thomson and Bill Land, Social Circle; and two grandchildren, Alexis and Riley Land. The family will receive friends this evening (Saturday) from 6-8 at Hopkins Funeral Home.
