Mrs. Frances (Patsy) Sanders Winn, 87, passed away November 23, 2022 at Wesley Woods Senior Living in Newnan, Georgia.
Mrs. Winn was born May 8, 1935 in Oglethorpe County, Georgia. She lived in Washington, Georgia for sixty-seven years. She was the daughter of the late William Thomas Sanders and Elizabeth Andrews Sanders Turner. Mrs. Winn retired from Washington Drapery Company where she was one of the original employees. Later she worked as a greeter at Hopkins Funeral Home for the past 10 years. She was a long time member of the First Baptist Church of Washington and of the Belle Williams Volunteer Sunday School Class. She took great joy as a volunteer in the nursery where she cared for a generation of babies as they had their first Sunday School experience. She continued to show her love for children as a volunteer providing snacks for many years for the children of the First Baptist Preschool program. Mrs. Winn was a “people person”. She enjoyed meeting new people and was said to “have never met a stranger.” She loved Washington, Georgia and let every person she met know it.
Mrs. Winn was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Hollis L. Winn. She is survived by one son, Keith Winn, and wife Linda, of Newnan, Georgia; two grandsons, Jonathan K. Winn and Zachary L. Winn; one great granddaughter, Blakely Rose Winn and one great grandson Gentry James Michael Winn. In addition she is survived by sister, Dorothy Sanders Wheless and a brother Ray Sanders. She is preceded in death by her brother, Robert Sanders.
Funeral services will be Wednesday, November 30, 2022, at 2:00 p.m. at the Hopkins Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Todd Ware officiating. Interment will follow at Resthaven Cemetery. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 1:00 p.m. until 1:55 p.m. at Hopkins Funeral Home.
