Frances Joann Bailey

Ms. Frances JoAnn Cleveland Bailey, 81, of Tignall, entered into rest on Thursday evening, March 23, 2023, at Athens Piedmont Hospital.

Ms. Bailey was born in Anderson, S.C. and had lived in this community for most of her life.  She was the daughter of the late Farmer Lee Cleveland and Luna Epps Cleveland, and was the widow of Mr. James Carlton Bailey, Sr.  She had worked as a supervisor of a sewing company, but spent and enjoyed more time being a loving wife, mother, and grandmother to her loving family.  She had been a member at Beulah Baptist Church for a number of years where she served as church clerk and assistant pianist.  She was most recently a member of the Tabor Baptist Church in Tignall.

She is survived by two sons, Carl Bailey, Jr. (Sharon), of Tignall, and Thomas Bailey (Michelle), of Washington; one daughter, Teresa B. Rodgers (Steve), of Saluda, S.C.; three grandsons, and three granddaughters, and six great grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by five brothers and one sister.

Memorial services will be held at 2:00p.m. Tuesday, March 28, 2023, at the Tabor Baptist Church with Rev. Paul Reviere and Jamie Callaway officiating.
