Faye Mcavoy

Mrs. Faye Janis Sisson McAvoy, 79, of Bartram Trace Rd., died Thursday afternoon at her residence. Mrs. McAvoy was born in the Carter’s Grove Community of Taliaferro County, and had lived in Wilkes County all of her life.She was the daughter of the late John Lloyd Sisson and Reba Combs Sisson, and was the wife of Henry Pope McAvoy.She had worked in local banks in customer service for a number of years.She was a member of Phillips Mill Baptist Church, where she had been the church organist and pianist for many years.She was preceded in death by a daughter, Julie Cara McAvoy. She is survived by her husband, Henry Pope McAvoy, of Rayle; one daughter, Mary Ruth Pollock (Lawrence), of Cottonwood Heights, UT; one brother, Mickey Sisson (Nancy), of Washington; and sister-in-law, Mary Hawes, of Rayle; and by a number of nieces and nephews, and great nieces and great nephews. Funeral services will be 3:00pm Sunday, July 9, 2017, at Phillips Mill Baptist Church with Rev. Mark Woods officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.The family will receive friends at the church for one hour prior to the service on Sunday (2:00-3:00pm). Pallbearers will be Lawrence Pollock, John Howard, Tony Powell, James Meech, John Sisson, James Demastes, and Brent Sherrer. Memorial contributions may be made to Phillips Mill Baptist Church, 5479 Greensboro Rd., Washington, GA30673, OR to the church of your choice.
