Mrs. Myrna Evelyn Neville Fortson, 81, of Thomson Rd. In Washington, passed away Thursday morning, March 21, 2019, at her home. Mrs. Fortson was born August 19, 1937, in Wilkes County and was the daughter of the late Clyde Neville and Ruby Elizabeth Vinson Neville. She was the widow of Mr. Willie (Billy) Grady Fortson, was a registered nurse, and had worked at Wills Memorial Hospital for a number of years.She was a member of the Washington First Baptist Church. She is survived by one daughter, Patricia Fortson Mason, of Rayle; one son, John Michael Fortson (Fran), of Washington; two granddaughters, Jaclyn Fortson Alexander (Mareo), of Grovetown, and Libby Fortson Partridge (Mel), of Lincolnton; and four great grandchildren, Destiny Alexander, Christian Alexander, Wade Partridge, and Shelbi Partridge. Funeral services will be 3:00pm Sunday, March 24, 2019, at the Hopkins Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. Paul Reviere officiating.Interment will follow at the Pierce’s ChapelCemetery on Holliday Park Rd. The family will receive friends Sunday afternoon from 1:30pm until 2:45pm at Hopkins Funeral Home just prior to the service at 3:00pm. Pallbearers will be Ben Lamar, Phil Danner, Ben Combs, David W. Hunt, Mel Partridge, Tim Partridge, Nick Edmunds, and Wade Waller. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society in her memory.
