Doris Emogene Chafin Davenport met her Savior on Tuesday, March 28, 2017.She was the wife of the late Winford Dudley Davenport. Mrs. Davenport was the daughter of the late Miles Chafin and Willie Pearl Gresham Chafin.She was a homemaker and was in previous fellowship at Washington Chapel, where she and her husband were baptized as well. She is survived by three daughters, Patsy Bailey (Winston) of Washington GA, Faye Granade of Washington GA, and Mary Jean Hall (Mike) of Calhoun Ga, five grandchildren Andrea Vaccaro (Joe) of Johns Creek GA, Christopher Bailey (Patty) of Washington GA, John Bailey (Sherri) of Washington GA, Charles Tyler (Andrea) of Bethlehem GA, and Michael Hall of Calhoun GA; eight great grandchildren,John David, Garner and Reese Bailey of Washington GA, Jeremy and Emilia Vaccaro, of John Creeks GA, Garrett and.Jacob Tyler of Bethlehem GA., and Ana Hall, of Kennesaw, GA.Mrs. Davenport is also survived by brothers Alvin Chafin (June) of Washington GA, Malcolm Chafin (Elizabeth) of Washington GA; a sister Nell Turpin of Washington GA,; two sisters- in-law, Ethel Welch of Dunwoody GA, and Shirley Chafin of Rayle GA; . She was preceded in death by brothers Aubrey, William, and Troy Chafin. Funeral services will be 2:00pm Thursday, March 30, 2017, at Hopkins Funeral Home with Peter Hoffman officiating. Tom Wells will be soloist.Interment will follow in Resthaven Cemetery. Pallbearers will be great grandchildren; John David, Garner, and Reese Bailey, Jeremy Vaccaro, Garrett and Jacob Tyler. The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service (1:00-2:00pm) at Hopkins Funeral Home.Memorial contributions may be made to Wills Memorial Hospital, 120 Gordon St., Washington, GA 30673.
