Edwin Scott Arnold

Mr. E. Scott Arnold, 78, of Clayton, NC, entered into rest on Thursday, February 3, 2022 at WakeMed Hospital in Raleigh, NC..Scott was born in Cleveland, TN on November 3, 1943. He was the son of the late Frank M. and Elizabeth (Mac) Arnold of Washington, GA. Scott served during The Vietnam War in the United States Marine Corps and was a 1969 graduate ofThe University of Georgia. As a licensed transport pilot and Cessna Aircraft Demo Pilot he logged over 10,000 hours of flight time. He would later go on to work for Ford Motor Company and as an entrepreneur in the electronics industry. Scott is survived by his wife, Shirley Jean of 58 years; 2 sons, F. Scott and wife Lisa of Vienna, VA and G. Steven and wife Allison of Raleigh, NC.; 5 Grandchildren, Jakob Bradley, Cameron Scott, Sarah Elizabeth, Kaitlin Elizabeth and Emma Grace. He is preceded in death by his grandson Evan Douglas. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews. Visitation and Funeral services will begin at 1:00pm Saturday, February 12, 2022, at the Hopkins Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jim Newsome officiating. Interment will follow at Resthaven Cemetery.
