Dorothy "Dot" Armour Moore

Dorothy “Dot” Armour Moore, 87, of the Tignall Rd. in Washington, passed away Monday, June 15, 2020, at her home. Mrs. Moore was born in Taliaferro County, and had lived in this community for all of her life.She was the daughter of the late Vernon Adolphus Armour and Willie Mae H. Armour, and was the widow of Mr. Carl West Moore.She had worked as the store manager at the Sears store in Washington and also managed the Bentley Brothers Furniture Store on the Square in Washington.She was a member of the Washington First Baptist Church. Mrs. Moore was preceded in death by a son, Carl West (Chuck) Moore, Jr., and by six brothers and four sisters. Mrs. Moore is survived by one son, Marcus Shane Moore, and wife Amy, of Washington; two daughters, Carlene Moore Henson Johnson, and husband Ken, of Palmetto, FL, and Susan Moore Shirah, and husband David, of Griffin; seven grandchildren, Richard Henson (Jann), Courtney Henson Lininger (Kyle),Coleigh Shirah Busbin (Jeremiah), Lindsey Shane Moore, Carl Walker Moore, Scott Johnson (Holly), and Ashley Johnson; and eleven great grandchildren, Sophie, Adam, Lilly, and Seth Henson,Molly Lininger, Jack Lininger, Brooks, Brady, and Beau Busbin, Kayla Johnson, and Kelsey Johnson. Graveside services will be 11:00am Thursday, June 18, 2020, at Phillips Mill Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Mark Woods officiating. Pallbearers will be Mark Moore, Sam Moore,Robert Armour, Travis Armour, Mark Walker, and Billy Caddell. Memorial contributions may be made to the Phillips Mill Baptist Church.
