Dorothy Anna S. “Dottie”Norman Mrs. Dorothy Anna Shook Norman, 75, formerly of Washington, died Tuesday, November 24, 2015, at Whispering Pines Personal Care Home in Athens. Dottie was born in Washington, GA and was the daughter of the late Henry Clay Shook and Dorothy Anna Kindler Shook. She graduated from the Grady School of Nursing in June of 1961, and married George Edward Norman in September of the same year.She started her nursing career at Wills Memorial Hospital, and left in 1973 for WWCHS to begin the Health Occupational Department. In 1979 she went to the CSRA Home Health Agency and retired in 2005.Dottie was a member of the Washington First United Methodist Church. A memorial service will be held at 5:00pm Sunday, November 29, 2015, at Hopkins Funeral Home with Rev. Ficklen Guin officiating. Honorary pallbearers will be Marvin McAvoy, Tommy Bradford, Pete Gartrell, Craig Baudier, Guy Norman iV, Jeff Norman, Sam Norman, David Howard, and Tommy Howard. Mrs. Norman is survived by one daughter, Anna N. Heaton (Mal), of Arley, AL; three sons, Henry Norman (Cathy), and daughters Amelia and Mary Emma, of Watkinsville, Ed Norman (Hayden), of Pittsburg, PA, and daughters Kindler and Kaitlin, and by Roy Norman, of Alpharetta. The family will receive friends Sunday from 4-5pm at Hopkins Funeral Home (one hour prior to the service). Memorial contributions may be made to the CSRA Care and Share, P.O.
