Dorothy Alline Callaway

Mrs. Dorothy Alline McElhannon Callaway, 86, of Lexington Rd.,entered into rest on Sunday, May 1, 2022, at her home in Rayle. Mrs. Callaway was born in Anderson, SC, and had lived in Wilkes County for most of her life.She was the daughter of Charlie and Pearl Whittington McElhannon, and was the widow of Mr. Jack Callaway.She was a homemaker and also worked at Royal Manufacturing Company for a while. She was a member of the Rock United Methodist Church. She is survived by two daughters, Ruby C. Booth, of Rayle, and Charlotte C. Fain, of Tignall; three grandchildren, Kristy Booth, Crystal Byrom(Robert), and Glenn Fain; two great grandchildren, Christian Byrom and Joseph Byrom; one sister, Ruby Arnold, of Rayle; and one brother, James McElhannon, of Lexington. Memorial services will be held at 11:00a.m. Thursday, May 5, 2022, in the Chapel of Hopkins Funeral Home with Rev. James Bowen officiating.
