Doris Smith Walker

Mrs. Doris Smith Walker, 80, of Walker Rd., passed away Tuesday morning, August 6, 2019, at the Georgia Regional Medical Center in Augusta. Mrs. Walker was born in Oglethorpe County, and had lived most of her life in Rayle.She was the daughter of Joe C. Smith and Reba McCannon Smith, and was the wife of Mr. Billy A. Walker.Mrs. Walker was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother who dedicated her life to her loving family, and was a member of the County Line Baptist Church. Mrs. Walker is survived by her husband of 62 years, Billy A. Walker, of Rayle; three daughters, Debra W. Sherrer (Mike), of Rayle, Becky W. Orr (John), of Dacula, and Janet W. Lewis (Cliff), of Athens; one son, Ralph Sidney Walker (Cheryl), of Rayle; eight grandchildren, Whitney Taylor, Lindsay Thomas, Alex Walker, Taylor Walker, Walker Orr, Isabella Orr, Ashton Lewis, and Hayden Lewis; six great grandchildren; and three sisters, Lucille Edmonds and Louise Smith, both of Anderson, S.C., and Linda Buff, of Rayle. Funeral services will be 11:00am Thursday morning, August 8, 2019, at the County Line Baptist Church with Rev. Larry Davison officiating.Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Pallbearers will be Hayden Lewis, Taylor Walker, Hutch Roper, Walker Orr, Reese Taylor, and Drew Thomas. The family will receive friends Wednesday afternoon, August 7, 2019, from 5:00 until 7:00 at Hopkins Funeral Home.
