Rev. Donald Eugene BerryRev. Donald Eugene Berry, 61, of Centerville Rd., went to be with the Lord on Wednesday morning, April 11, 2018.He passed away at the St. Mary’s Hospice House in Watkinsville. Rev. Berry was a native of Wilkes County, where he had lived most of his life.He was the son of Betty Burt Berry and of the late Bradley Eugene Berry.He had earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Pastoral Ministry from Toccoa Falls College. He pastored the Mallorysville Baptist Church in Tignall for almost 26 years, and retired from the Department of Family and Children Services after 18 years of service. Rev. Donnie was loved by everyone who knew him, and will be greatly missed. Rev. Berry is survived by his wife, Kris Perman Berry, of Rayle; two daughter, Jessica Berry and fiancé Derrick Cofer, of Rayle; Abbie Pruitt (Joey), of Lexington; his mother, Betty B. Berry, of Rayle; one sister, Sandra B. Parker (Thomas), of Rayle; three grandchildren, Kylie Pruitt, Lindsey Pruitt, and Noah Pruitt; two nephews, Thomas L. Parker (Shelley), and Joshua G. Parker (Samantha); two great nieces, Lila Rose Hosting, and Hallie Parker; and two great nephews, Jonathan Hosting, and Bradley Parker. Funeral services will be 2:00pm Saturday, at the Mallorysville Baptist Church with Rev. Jim Newsome and Rev. Clayton Sanders officiating.Interment will follow at the Rock United Methodist Church Cemetery in Rayle. Active pallbearers will be Marc Hammond, Joe Burton, Neal Wilson, Ralph Denard, Ryan Burton, and Shane Denard.Honorary pallbearers will be David Hilley and Otis Callaway. The family will receive friends Friday evening from 6-8pm at Hopkins Funeral Home.
