Dewey Robert Stewart

Mr. Dewey Robert “Buddy” Stewart, 74, of Sharon, died September 10, 2011 at Wills Memorial Hospital. He was a native of Taliaferro County, the son of the late Dewey and Ethel Clyde Taylor Stewart.Mr. Stewart worked for the Road Maintenance Department of Taliaferro County, had been a cattle farmer and also raised pine trees.He was a member of Jennings Baptist Church.In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister and brother in law, Lillia Lee and Richard Moody. Funeral services will be Tuesday, September 13th at 11:00a.m. in Jennings Baptist Church with Rev. John Lance officiating.Interment will follow in the church cemetery. David Clark, Calvin Sorrow, Willie Seals, Larry Veazy, Charlie Greene and Bobby Jones will serve as pallbearers. Survivors include nieces, Phyllis Sorrow and her husband Harold, of Washington, Beth Moody, of Greensboro, and Nonie Canup and her husband, Glen of Greensboro; great niece, Amber Canup and great nephews, Calvin and James Sorrow; two great great nieces, Joy and Hope Grant; and several cousins. The family will receive friends Monday evening from 6-8pm at the funeral home.
