Daniel Morris Matthews

Mr. Daniel Morris (Danny) Matthews, 73, of Jones Chapel Rd. In Danburg, passed away Saturday morning, July 20, 2019. Mr. Matthews was a native of Wilkes County, and had lived in this community for about the last 35 years.He was the son of the late Robert Hugh Matthews and Dorothy Perkins Matthews. He was a retired truck driver, was a U.S. Army Veteran, and was a member of the Danburg Baptist Church. He is survived by his two daughters, Marty Matthews, of Tyrone, GA, and Meagan M. Kerr, of Dover, Delaware; and by six grandchildren. Funeral service will be 3:00pm Monday, July 22, 2019 , at the Danburg Baptist Church with Rev. Ficklen Guin officiating.Burial will follow in the Church Cemetery.Visitation will be at the church for one hour prior to the service (2:00pm-3:00pm). Pallbearers will be Henry Holsonback, Jimmy McNair, Wesley Land, David Armour, Chris Gilmer, and Jeff Myer. Memorial contributions may be made to the branch of the U.S. Armed Forces that you prefer.
