Cynthia Russell Bounds

Mrs. Cindy Russell Bounds, 66, of Spring St. In Washington, passed away Wednesday, December 5, 2018, at her home. Cindy was born in Washington, and had lived here most of her life.She was the daughter of Hazel Linnenkohl Russell and of the late John Thomas Russell, Jr., and was the wife of Lincoln H. Bounds.Cindy was a University of Georgia graduate, where she was a majorette for the UGA football team.She was the Class of 1969 Homecoming Queen at the Washington-Wilkes High School, and was the bookkeeper for the family business.Cindy also had a great love for animals, and spearheaded the drive to form the local Animal Shelter.She was a member of the Washington First Baptist Church. She is survived by her husband, Lincoln H. Bounds, of Washington; one daughter, Bonnie E. Bounds, of Columbus, OH; one son, John O. Bounds, of Washington; and by her mother, Hazel L. Russell, of Washington. Funeral services will be 2:00pm Tuesday, December 11, 2018, at the Washington First Baptist Church.The family will receive friends Monday evening from 6-8pm at Hopkins Funeral Home.Active pallbearers will be Gene Futch, Bryce Hawes, Rick Hawes, Ricky Lindsey, Carlton Adair, Mike Sherrer, Mercer Harris and Sparky Newsome.Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Washington-Wilkes High School Class of 1969.
