Mr. Clifford Gary Mansfield, 69, of Washington, died Friday, August 23, 2013 at University Hospital.A native of Washington, he was the son of the late Clifford Hester and Berta Eunice Paschall Mansfield.Gary was retired from Pactiv in Beech Island, South Carolina, where he had been Plant Engineer.He was with Gideons International and a member of First Baptist Church where he served as Deacon, Sound Tech, Greeter, and a member of the Friendship Sunday School Class. Gary was a brilliant and talented Christian gentleman.There was nothing he could not envision, create, design, build, improve or repair.He was a devoted son, loving husband, amazing father, proud grandfather, great friend and servant of God.Gary loved the outdoors and was an avid hunter and fisherman.His country cabin and farm were sources of pleasure as he generously shared them with family and friends.He will be greatly missed but will be remembered for the quiet, yet abundant, life he lived on this Earth before going to join his Heavenly Father. Funeral services will be held Monday, August 26, 2013 at 11:00a.m. in First Baptist Church of Washington with Rev. Kevin Madden and Rev. Lee Clamp officiating.Active Deacons will serve as pallbearers.Members of the localGideons and theFriendship SS Class will serve as honorary pallbearers.Interment will follow in Resthaven Cemetery. Survivors include his wife of forty five years, Dean Mansfield; son and daughter in law, Clifford Lawrence and Mary Mansfield, of Peachtree Corners; two granddaughters, Hannah Mansfield and Emily Mansfield; and “adopted son” Randy Gill, Barnwell, SC; The family will receive friends Sunday from 4-7pm at the funeral home.
