Clifford "Kip" Burke

Mr. Clifford “Kip” Burke, 63, of Greens Circle in Washington, passed away on August 13, 2017, at his home. Mr. Burke was born in Birmingham, AL, and lived in Washington for 20 years.He was the son of the late Charles C. and Elizabeth Rogers Burke, and was employed by the Washington News Reporter, where he wrote a weekly editorial column.He was the husband of Margie Sprayberry Burke, and served 16 years in the U. S. Navy.He and Margie were members of the Sanctuary Church of God in Washington. Mr. Burke is survived by his wife, Margie S. Burke, of Washington; two sons, Philip Burke, of Athens, and Charlie Burke, of Atlanta; two sisters, Pat Silberman (Steve), of Finksburg, MD, and Rebecca Allison (Mack), of Greensboro, NC.He was preceded in death by his older brother, Charles Burke. A memorial service is planned for 2:00PM Sunday, September 10, 2017, at the Pope Center in Washington, GA, with Pastor Alec George officiating.
